Elizabeth E. Hunter White Plains, New York
Elizabeth Hunter is an associate attorney at Sapir & Frumkin LLP. She handles a wide range of matters on behalf of employees, employers, and labor unions, with a concentration in employment discrimination and retaliation, employment benefits, wage-and-hour, and whistleblower claims. Ms. Hunter was previously a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Administrative Law Judges, where she handled cases under federal whistleblower statutes, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and various health and safety laws, as well as under federal wage-and-hour and workers' compensation statutes. She was also an intern of the Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center in San Francisco, where she focused on gender and disability discrimination, and family and medical leave issues. Ms. Hunter also served as a judicial extern for U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero in the Northern District of California. Ms. Hunter is a magna cum laude graduate of Wellesley College. She received her law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, graduating as a member of the Order of the Coif. She was awarded the Best Brief Award, as well as the American Jurisprudence Award in Corporations, and the Prosser Award in Property. While in law school, she was a senior articles editor for the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, a member of the California Law Review, and a volunteer for the Workers' Rights Clinic. Ms. Hunter is admitted to practice in New York and California, as well as the federal courts for the Southern District of New York and the Northern District of California. She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
